Your Clara dashboard gives you visibility into where your applications stand — so you're never left wondering what's happening after you hit submit.
Application Statuses
From your dashboard, each application will show one of three statuses:
- Complete — Your application is fully submitted and the landlord is able to review it. All required components (including any roommate or guarantor applications) are in.
- Submitted — Your part of the application is submitted, but one or more roommate or guarantor applications haven't been completed yet. The landlord won't be able to review until all linked applications are in.
- Not Submitted — Your application is still incomplete. Finish all required sections to submit.
After Your Application Is Complete
Once your status shows "Complete," you can also see:
- Viewed by landlord — whether the landlord or agent has opened and reviewed your application
Applying with roommates or a guarantor? All linked applications must be submitted before the landlord can view any of them. If your status shows "Submitted" rather than "Complete," it means one or more roommates or your guarantor still need to finish and submit their applications.
Notifications You'll Receive
Clara sends you email notifications when:
- Your application is successfully submitted — confirmation that everything went through
- A landlord or agent messages you — so you can respond promptly through Clara
- A decision is made on your application — you'll know the outcome as soon as the landlord takes action
Messaging Through Clara
You can communicate directly with landlords and agents through Clara's built-in messaging feature. This keeps all communication in one place and gives you a record of your conversations. If a landlord has questions about your application or wants to schedule a showing, you'll receive an email notification and can reply from your dashboard.
Tip: Check your messages regularly — responding quickly shows landlords you're serious and engaged.
While You Wait
Once your application is complete, there's no set timeline for when landlords will respond — it depends on their process and how many applications they're reviewing. Here's what you can do in the meantime:
- Keep applying — your verified Renter Passport is reusable for 30 days, so don't wait on one property
- Check your dashboard for status updates
- Respond to messages promptly if a landlord reaches out
